Johnson Cruises At Greystone
Michael Johnson took a four-shot lead into
the final round of the Greystone Invitational
at Greystone Golf & Country Club (Founders
Course), enabling him to play conservatively in
the final round and cruise to a four-shot win.
Johnson, a sophomore at Auburn University,
shot 10-under-par 278 to prevail over Joel
Thelen and Trey Mullinax, who finished T2 at
6-under 282. Johnson’s best finish prior to this
event was a T3 for Auburn at the U.S. Collegiate
Championship last fall.
RESULTS
finished with a pair of 1-over 72s to place third
individually on 7-under 277. Top finisher for
the U.S. was Lorens Chan, from Honolulu, who
shared sixth place on rounds of 71-69-71-70 for
a 3-under 281 total.

SEIFFERT WINS FLORIDA STATE AMATEUR
Chase Seiffert overcame a lengthy rain delay
to win the Florida State Amateur Sunday at The
Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla. Seiffert, a member of the Florida State University golf team,
finished at 1-under-par 287 to post a four-shot
win over Joe Alfieri. Seiffert and Alfieri entered
the final round tied for the lead; Seiffert closed
with a 1-over 73 on a long and difficult weather
day, while Alfieri stumbled to a 5-over-par 77,
which included a quadruple-bogey 8 on the
ninth hole and five additional bogeys.

the nation’s top players battled the heat and
Willow Creek Golf Club for the Hall of Fame
Championship. Paul Simson from Raleigh, N.C.,
prevailed in a one-hole playoff over Emile Vaughn
to claim the title. John Walters of Charlotte, N.C.,
claimed the Super Seniors title.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductee, Paul Simson
from Raleigh, N.C., owns a sterling competitive
record that includes victories in this event in
2008, 2010 and 2012. The win in 2010 was part

Canadian Senior Amateur. We’re proud to honor a player
