According to four people with direct knowledge, Phil Mickelson sent a text message to
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem from the
sixth fairway at Muirfield Village on Thursday,
suggesting that a lack of policing fans with
cell phones was getting out of hand. Mickelson
withdrew after an opening 79, citing fatigue.

Arnie Burdick, longtime media relations
director for the PGA Tour’s Heritage event on
Hilton Head Island, died Tuesday afternoon at
Hilton Head Regional Medical Center after a
brief illness. Burdick, who recently worked his
27th Heritage, was 92.

claims that ex-boyfriend McIlroy bought her
the luxury Belfast penthouse apartment
that she is selling. The 21-year-old from
Holywood, Co Down, says she paid off the
mortgage on the flat, in the Boat building on
the banks of the Lagan, herself. She has it
on the market at a cool £660,000 (€811,000).
