Roque Heads Canadian Tour Q-School
Californian Andrew Roque of Monterey overcame a rough start to capture medalist honors Friday at the 2012 Canadian Tour Qualifying School.
Sixty-seven players earned status on the
Tour, played over Oak Valley GC and The
Country Club at Soboba Springs in California.
Thirty players received exempt status after a
four-man playoff decided the final three exempt
cards, while 37 other players received nonexempt status.
Roque had an opening-round 76, but recovered to post 66-71-67 to finish on 5-under 280,
two-shots clear of compatriot Kevin Tucker.
The top Canadian finisher was Cory Renfrew, of Victoria, B.C., who finished third.
