Sierra Sims, AUSTIN, TEX.
Sierra recorded consecutive AJGA victories at the Goodman Networks Junior at
Traditions and Under Armour/Hunter Mahan Championship. Her latest win came
after she fired a 5-under-par 32 in her final nine holes to force a sudden-death
playoff at the Hunter Mahan event at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas.
Sierra has verbally committed to the University of Florida for the fall of 2013.
Andrew Mason, HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA.
Mason is the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s reigning William Hyndman III
Player of the Year. He won three majors in 2011: the GAP Open Championship,
the Pennsylvania Golf Association Amateur and the Joseph H. Patterson Cup.
He also advanced to the semifinals in the GAP Amateur and qualified for the
U.S. Amateur.
Ryan Burgess, RANCHO SANTA FE, CALIF.
Overcoming high winds and rainy weather, Ryan won the AJGA’s Under
Armour/Hunter Mahan Championship at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano,
Texas. Ryan will return to the Dallas area in the fall as a member of the SMU
golf team.
Reilly Erhardt, NEWTOWN, PA.
In his second season competing in the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Junior
Division, Erhardt emerged as a top player. He was runner-up in the GAP Junior
Boys’ Championship and captured the Jock MacKenzie Memorial, an 18-hole,
stroke-play tournament. Erhardt, 15, earned the Harry Hammond Award, given
to the player with lowest aggregate score in a 72-hole tournament stretch.
Charles McClaskey, ELKTON, MD.
At age 73, McClaskey is at the top of his game. He commands the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Super-Senior division, serving as its two-time Player
of the Year. McClaskey won three of its four Majors in 2011 and attained the
Super-Senior Silver Cross Award, given to the player with the lowest aggregate
score in a 72-hole tournament stretch.
