Lee McCoy, of Clarkesville, Ga., carded a
final-round 71 to cap a three-shot comeback
for his first AJGA victory, while Samantha
Wagner, of Windermere, Fla., won the Girls
the last of which was a 20-footer on No. 18 that
sealed the win. Joshua Martin, of Pinehurst,
N.C., finished second at 2-under-par 142, while
Grant Daugherty, of Alcoa, Tenn., finished third
at 1-under-par 143.
Wagner opened with a 4-under-par 68 and
added to her lead by carding three birdies in her
final-round 70. After finishing runner-up at the
event in 2010 and 2011, Wagner broke through in
2012 and entered the winner’s circle for the sec-
ond time in her AJGA career. Cindy Ha, of Demar-
est, N.J., finished second at 1-under-par 143.

SIMS, BURGESS WIN RAIN-SHORTENED EVENT

After a rain-shortened, nine-hole final
round, Sierra Sims, of Austin, Tex., finished at
5-over par and nabbed her second win in seven
days in a sudden-death playoff, while Ryan
Burgess of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., finished
at a 6-over par to win the Boys Division at the
Under Armour/Hunter Mahan Championship.

Sims’ final round of 5-under 32 at Gleneagles
Country Club in Plano, Tex., vaulted her from a
three-way tie for sixth to a two-way tie for first.

Sims and 36-hole leader Summar Roachell, of
Conway, Ark., competed in a sudden-death play-
off, which Sims won with par on the second hole.
It was her second-straight AJGA victory, as she
won the Goodman Networks Junior at Traditions
over Easter weekend.
Burgess, who was in the final group at this
event in 2011, protected his 36-hole lead with a
3-over-par 37 in the final round en route to his
first AJGA victory. Hayden Wood, of Edmond,
Okla., finished second at 9-over par.

Due to weather delays, the Boys Division
45-hole par was 176 and the Girls Division par
was 179.
