Don’t let the World Amateur Golf Ranking fool you – Matt Broome has some serious
game. Ranked No. 1,314 in the world, the Furman University senior got off to a hot
start in 2011 with a win at the SpringHill Suites Invitational, firing rounds of 68-69-71
(- 8). After claiming his second career tournament title, Broome posted back-to-back
top 20s, including a T7 at the Auto Trader Collegiate Classic, to help lead the
Paladins. This past summer, Broome finished T21 at the Francis Ouimet Memorial.
With results like these, Broome will only continue to climb the ranking ladder.
