Former British Open champion Tom Lehman
sealed a wire-to-wire victory Sunday in the
European Senior Tour season-ending MCB Tour
Championship after surviving a final-round
battle with David Frost in Mauritius.
The 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup captain carded a
final-round 71 for a 12-under par total of 204 to
hold off South African Frost by a single stroke,
on a day when Australian Peter Fowler sealed
the Senior Tour Order of Merit.
Lehman was making his debut in a regular
Senior Tour event and the victory was his fourth
of the year following three wins on the Champions Tour, where he topped the money list.
Constance Belle Mare Plage with a two-shot
edge over Frost after rounds of 65-68 to Frost’s
68-67. Frost was bidding for a unique double of
winning twice at the same venue in a season
following his play-off win in the Mauritius Commercial Bank Open 12 months ago.

EURO TOUR FINAL Q-SCHOOL FIELD SET
France’s Guillaume Cambis and London’s
Luke Goddard led 20 successful qualifiers from
the European Tour’s Second Stage Qualifying
School at Costa Ballena Ocean Club Monday.
It was one of four Second Stage qualifiers
held across Spain, leading up to the six-round
Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona,
Spain, that began on Saturday and concludes
Thursday.
Cambis, who led this year’s Alps Tour Order
of Merit, and Goddard, the 23-year-old former
English Amateur champion and Walker Cupper, finished on 16-under 272, one shot clear of
South African Justin Walters. American Trent
Leon claimed the final spot, edging England’s
John E. Morgan in a sudden-death playoff.
Among those failing to advance were former
world No. 1 amateur Peter Uihlein, 2010 Welsh
Open Amateur winner Eddie Pepperell and
French Amateur champion Alexander Levy.
At La Manga Club, Italian Andrea Perrino
and South Africa’s Allan Versfeld led 20 successful qualifiers. Challenge Tour member
Perrino and Versfeld both finished on 15 under.
They were followed home by England’s Graeme
Clark (74) and Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Heredia
(68). Former Lytham Trophy winner Matt Haines
failed to advance.
