Kings of the World ... Cup:
Matt Kuchar (left) and
Gary Woodland
Seems that U.S. teammates Matt Kuchar
and Gary Woodland ate Thanksgiving dinner in
a Chinese restaurant that featured a karaoke
bar. No word on whether either could carry
a tune – Golf Boys, apparently, they are not.
foursomes to give the Americans
their 24th World Cup title.
In doing so, they held off a charging English
team (Ian Poulter and Justin Rose), which shot
an astounding 9 under in Sunday foursomes,
and a stumbling Irish pair (Rory McIlroy and
Graeme McDowell), which shot even par and
whose eyes were certainly not smiling.
On the same side of the globe, Greg Chalmers
is the world’s hottest lefty, winning the Australian
PGA in a playoff, two weeks after taking down
a world-class field in winning the Emirates
Australian Open. He is clearly the best Aussie
not chosen for The Presidents Cup. Were you
watching, Capt. Norman?
Down the street in South Africa, a home
countryman won the SA Open Championship
and he wasn’t named Els or Goosen, which,
given their play of late, is not all that big of a
surprise.
