Thirty-four large boxes and a driving range mat were stacked in Mickey Wright’s dining room. It seemed to her as if her whole life was encased in those boxes. On Nov. 4, a truck hauled away the boxes and headed for the United States Golf Association Museum in Far Hills, N.J. Wright stood in her doorway and watched them go. Tired, but ecstatic, she felt blessed that the more than 200 artifacts from her distinguished career were being shipped to the Museum. The collection will be displayed in a newly created Mickey Wright Room, which is scheduled to open in June.

Nine months ago Gonzalo Fernandez-
Castaño’s back was so bad he had to sit on
a stool between shots to ease the pain, but a
fifth European Tour victory last week has put a
spring back in the step of the relieved Spaniard.
