Thousands Attend Seve’s Funeral
The funeral of golfing legend Seve Ballesteros took place in his Spanish home village
of Pedreña on Wednesday. Ryder Cup captains
Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Sam Torrance and Jose Maria Olazabal were part of the
procession led by the Ballesteros family to their
local San Pedro church.
Ballesteros died May 7. His body was cremated at an undisclosed location in the village,
with his ashes scattered at his home estate.

troubled sponsor Lough Erne just yet. The

administration this week with debts estimated
at around € 30 million.

The PGA Tour and Northern Trust an-
nounced last week a four-year sponsorship
extension for the Northern Trust Open at
Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles through
2016. Northern Trust’s original five-year agree-
ment expires after the 2012 tournament.

pect of a place in the Great Britain and Ireland
