Bank Vongvanij started 2011 much the same way he left off in 2010 – playing
excellent golf. Vongvanij, No. 60 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, recorded
a second-place finish at the New Year’s Invitational last week in St. Petersburg, Fla. Late last year, the University of Florida senior recorded his first
collegiate medalist honor, posting 4-under par at the Isleworth Invitational.
In his career, he holds a 72.14 stroke average with 26 rounds at par or better
and nine top- 10 finishes.
