Danielle Kang plays with more experience than her sophomore status at Pepper-dine University suggests. Kang was named the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year after recording five top- 20 finishes, including a win at the Bruin
Wave Invitational. But the biggest accomplishment of her young career came this
summer in North Carolina where she won the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Kang also
made the cut at this year’s U.S. Women’s Open at Oakmont. But that wasn’t the
first time she played in that event; she first qualified at age 14.
