Greg Norman
, 55, is off the market again
after he became engaged to fellow Aussie and
interior designer
Kirsten Kutner
, 41, a longtime
friend and mother of two. Norman reportedly
gave Kutner a six-carat diamond
ring, Australia’s
New Idea
maga-
zine reported. Norman’s
engagement comes 10
months after his split
with
Chris Evert
in
September 2009 after
18 months of mar-
riage. Norman divorced
his first wife,
Laura
Andrassy
, in 2007 after
25 years together. Andrassy
received $103 million in the settlement. While
Evert wished Norman “happiness,” Andrassy
told the
Daily Telegraph
she confronted her then
husband back in the early 1990s to break con-
tact with Miss Kutner, calling her a “destructive
force in their marriage. I don’t care what he
does, I’ve moved on. It’s just that my children
have to be around a woman who almost
destroyed our family.”
Although
Tiger Woods
’ new teacher,
Sean
Foley
, believes Woods will shatter
Jack Nick-
laus
’ record of winning 18 major champion-
ships – Tiger has 14 – the man who holds the
record is not as sure as he once was. “Is Tiger
going to? I suspect he will, but he still has to do
it. It is no longer the foregone conclusion that it
once was,” the Golden Bear said. Foley told the
New York Times
: “Tiger is only 34. He’s got basi-
cally 12 more years and that’s 48 more majors
... I don’t know how many majors he will win,
but it’s definitely more than 18.”
The Big Easy will concentrate on playing
the PGA Tour next year.
Ernie Els
, who owns a
home in Jupiter, Fla., with his wife,
Liezl
, and
their two young children, cites a settled family
life and the desire to be well-prepared for the
tournaments he does play for the decision. “I
feel I have such a wonderful family life now. It’s
really comfortable. I can practice at home right
through the year now, so I’m going to have a lot
more time to work on my game and be fresh,”
Els said, adding he feels he can still win an-
other major.
Give
Ben Crane
credit: Despite having won
three times on the PGA Tour and earning more
than $13 million, he knows his public image is
of a Bible-toting, slow-playing bore. So he and
some friends decided to do something about
it. The result is a wacky workout video starring
Crane. Visit www.bencranegolf.com to check it
out. “If the image of Tour players is X, my image
is X times two,” Crane said. “I’m serious about
my relationship with Christ, walking with Jesus,
my wife, my family and I play slow, but ask
people close to me, they’ll tell you there’s more
to me than just that.” l
