Kang’s Late Charge
Earns Win In Malaysia
A playoff looked fairly certain at the Sime
Darby LPGA Malaysia on Sunday, but Juli Inkster
bogeyed the final hole to give Jimin Kang of
Korea a one-shot victory for her second career
LPGA Tour win.
Kang birdied three of her final four holes,
including a downhill 12-footer on the 18th, to
shoot a 6-under 65.
Paired with rounds of 70-69 on the first two
days, Kang posted a 54-hole total of 204, 9-un-
der par, at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.
Inkster, who turned 50 in June, would have
been the oldest winner in LPGA Tour history, but
instead posted a second-place finish with a final-
round, 4-under 67 and a total of 8-under 205.
