Paul Azinger won’t be playing any golf the
rest of the year following an early evening mo-
torcycle accident on Sept.
10 near his Bradenton, Fla.,
home that left him with
bruised and cracked ribs
and abrasions, the Braden-
ton Herald reported. Azinger
was driving a 2010 BMW
motorcycle when Jennifer
Coffin turned left in front
of him in a 2002 Toyota. Ac-
cording to the Florida Highway Patrol, Azinger
“laid the bike down” to avoid a collision. Coffin
was cited. Azinger was treated at a local hospi-
tal and released. He is recovering at home. His
agent, Rich Braund, said Azinger can’t swing
a club for 10 weeks. Azinger is scheduled to
be part of the ESPN/NBC Ryder Cup television
coverage team next week.

Paula Creamer returned to the scene of her
greatest triumph to date – even if it was only for
a split second and several thousand feet above
ground. Creamer, who won the U.S. Women’s
Open at Oakmont Country Club in July, returned
to the Pittsburgh area last week in the back

seat of an F- 16 fighter jet. Creamer, whose
father, Paul, was a former Navy and commer-
cial pilot, was in a plane piloted by Capt. Kristin
Hubbard, one of the first females named to the
Air Force’s Thunderbirds squad. Creamer expe-
rienced flying upside down, inverted loops and
barrel rolls and was also given a unique aerial
view of Oakmont. “My main goal was to not get
sick,” said Creamer. “I made it and would love
to do it again ... just not tomorrow.”
