Hudson Rallies To Win Sunnehanna
JOHNSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA | Memphis
native Bobby Hudson, a rising senior at the
University of Texas, stormed from behind to
capture the 57th annual Sunnehanna Amateur Sunday in Johnstown, Pa. Hudson closed
with a 4-under-par 66 to finish at 5-under
275, two better than the fast-closing mid-amateur Nathan Smith.
Hudson, an All Big 12 Conference player
in 2010 who is ranked 44th in the World
Amateur Golf Ranking, shot a second-round
67 to get into the mix. He entered the final
round four behind Brad Benjamin, but he set
the tone for the day with an opening birdie.
He would make four more against a lone
bogey. Pittsburgh’s Smith, one spot behind
Hudson in the WAGR, shot a 4-under 31 on
the final nine, highlighted by an eagle on the
11th hole.
SUNNENHENA VETERAN JAY SIGEL HONORED
Sunnehanna honored three-time winner Jay Sigel at a pre-tour-ney dinner on Wednesday night. Sigel first played at Sunnehanna in
1961, and he would make 19 appearances before turning pro in 1994.
UIHLEIN INCREASES LEAD
Peter Uihlein, No. 1 in the WAGR, widened his lead to 90 points with his runner-up
performance at the NCAA Championship.
Uihlein, a junior at Oklahoma State, has been
atop the rankings for six weeks. Jonathan
Randolph, a Mississippi senior, moved up
three spots to No. 4, and St. Andrews Links
Trophy runner-up Stiggy Hodgson moved up

BROTHERS RULE IN KENTUCKY
The Blann brothers finished 1-2 at the Kentucky State Amateur,
with older brother Jordan prevailing over Seth with a birdie on the
first playoff hole. Seth caught Jordan with a final-round 67 to tie at
206. Jordan, 2009 Kentucky Player of the Year, successfully defended
his title. Chris Morris and Jesse Massie matched scores for three
consecutive days and finished T3 at 208. RESULTS
