Long-hitting Kim Dae-hyun shot
back-to-back 66s on the weekend
and cruised to a four-stroke victory
in the OneAsia GS Caltex Maekyung
Open on Sunday. The 22-year-old
Korean finished at 18-under-par 270
at Namseoul Country Club on the
outskirts of Seoul.
Japan Tour star Kim Kyung-tae,
who began the final day tied for the
lead, closed with a 70 and was sec-
ond at 274. Australian pro Scott Ar-
nold, the world’s No. 1 amateur last
year, shared third with the Korean
duo of Han Min-kyu and Kang Kyung-
nam, a distant 12 shots off the pace.
“This is the biggest win of my
career. I wasn’t worried at all today
because I knew I was in great
condition,” said Kim after his first
OneAsia title and second pro victory
overall. “I’ve played golf for 13 years
and I’m in the best form of my life.
Now, I want to go on and win the
Korean Tour Order of Merit for the
first time.”

her first Ladies European Tour title
Sunday with a two-stroke victory at
the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open.
The charismatic blonde, 23, from
Derby, shot 74 in the final round at
National Golf Club in Belek, to finish
at 3-under for the tournament and
three shots ahead of Denmark’s Iben
Tinning (74) and Christel Boeljon
from the Netherlands (72).

nal round of the Investec Royal Swazi
Open at Royal Swazi Sun Country
Club, Keith Horne felt he needed to
make four eagles if he were to have a
chance at winning the modified Sta-
bleford event. He began the day trail-
ing Christiaan Basson, who led each
of the first three rounds, by 15 points.
As it turned out, Horne needed to
make just one eagle to edge Basson
47 points to 46 and claim the Sun-
shine Tour title.

Jessica Shepley, of Oakville, Ont.,
fired a final-round, 1-under-par 72 to
win the season-opening event on the
CN Canadian Women’s Tour at the
par-73 Quilchena Golf and Country
Club in Richmond, B.C., Friday. The
27-year-old, who earned $10,000
(CAD) finished the 36-hole tourna-
ment at 1-over par 147 (75-72), one
shot better than opening-round lead-
er Lisa Ferrero, of Lodi, Calif., Char-
lotte Mayorkas and Seema Sadekar,
both of Las Vegas, and Ryann O’Toole,
of San Clemente, Calif.
