Retailers Sears and Edwin
Watts have reached a multi-
year agreement that will start
with placing Edwin Watts golf
shops inside 12 existing Sears
stores in key locations nation-
wide beginning next month.

The first shop will open May
31 in Murray, Utah, followed by
Hicksville, N. Y., Falls Church,
Va., and Friendswood, Tex. Ad-
ditional openings in 2010 are
planned for Maryland, Illinois,
New York, Florida and Ken-
tucky. Each shop is projected
to be between 2,700-3,000
square feet.
The Charlotte Observer
reports that gossip/entertain-
ment TV shows “Inside Edition”
and “Extra” were denied media
credentials for this week’s
Quail Hollow Championship,
where Tiger Woods will make
his second start of the year. Lee
Patterson, director of commu-
nications for the tournament,
said the two shows were denied
credentials because the appli-
cation deadline had passed.
Woods and LeBron James
tied for first place in a survey
of the world’s greatest athlete.
Woods and James each re-
ceived 10 percent of the votes
from 855 respondents in a Se-
ton Hall sports poll conducted
after Woods returned to com-
petitive golf at The Masters.
Woods polled 38 percent in a
Gallup poll in June 2001.

The re-branding won’t change
daily operations, according to
