Seminole Intercollegiate

Florida State won its third tournament of the season in a nail-biter over South Caro-
lina. FSU took a one-shot advantage into the final round against the Gamecocks and
held that edge as both teams fired 5-over-par 289s. The Seminoles finished at 13-over
865 while the Gamecocks were at 14 over. A pair of seniors shared medalist honors –
FSU’s Seth Lauer and South Carolina’s Paul Woodbury – at 1-under-par 212.
WOMEN
UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational

It was home-course advantage for UNLV as the Rebels finished at 2-over-par 866, 12
strokes better than runner-up Texas. The Longhorns fired a final-round 4-under 284,
but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Rebels. Texas finished 12 back at 14-over 878.
UNLV junior Therese Koelbaek won medalist honors with three sub-par rounds of 68-
71-71 for a 6-under 210 total. Idaho sophomore Kayla Mortellaro fired a tournament-
best 65 but and finished second at 3-under 213.
Samford Invitational

Vanderbilt and host Samford shared the team championship after Samford stormed
back to force a playoff. Both teams finished at 13-over 877, but while Vanderbilt posted a
final-round, 14-over 302, the Bulldogs saved their best for last, firing a tournament-best
6-under 282 to tie the Commodores. Samford freshman Casey O’Toole ran away with med-
alist honors with rounds of 73-65-66 for a 12-under 204 total and a seven-shot victory over
Kennesaw State sophomore Jeff Karlsson.

Coastal Carolina improved every day to take home its second team title of the season. With
rounds of 301-299-291 for a 27-over 891 total, the Chanticleers posted a 15-shot margin
over Augusta State which finished at 42-over 906. Coastal Carolina’s 3-over 291 on the
final 18 was the low round of the tournament. Chanticleers senior Aruka Felgueroso won
medalist honors at 3-over 219. Her final-round 4-under 68 was the only score under par in
the event. Freshman Brittany Henderson tied for second at 7-over 223.
Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

Chattanooga won its first title of the 2009-10 season with the help of a second-round
3-under 277, the lowest of the tournament. The Mocs finished at 15-over 855, seven
clear of second-place Clemson, which finished at 22-over 862. East Carolina posted
28-over 868 to finish solo third. Virginia sophomore Ben Kohles shot 5-under 205 to
take home his second medalist honor of the season. His total was three clear of Lib-
erty sophomore Robert Karlsson, who finished third at 2-under 208.
JMU Eagle Landing Invite

South Florida overcame a three-stroke deficit to win its first tournament of the spring
season. USF posted a final-round 11-over 299 and a 34-over 898 total for a six-shot
victory over Illinois. Second-round leader Central Arkansas had a disappointing final
day, firing a 22-over 310 to fall to third place at 42-over 906. Illinois sophomore Hailey
Koschmann won medalist honors at 2-under 214, the lowest 54-hole total of her college
career. The individual win was the first for the Fighting Illini since 2007.
Fresno St. Lexus Golf Classic

Brigham Young won its first tournament of the season in overtime. BYU and San Diego
finished regulation at 20-over 1,085, two shots clear of Washington, and headed to ex-
tra holes where the Cougars won on the first playoff hole. BYU senior Robbie Filmore
also birdied the first playoff hole to win his first individual title. Filmore and UC-Irvine
senior John Chin finished at 5-under 208.
Juli Inkster Spartan Invite

Cal took everything mother nature could throw at it for the first two rounds and hung
on to win. Through heavy winds, rain and even hail, the Golden Bears posted a 35-over
899 total, two shots clear of UC Davis. Second-round leader San Jose State played its
worst on the best day of weather to drop to third at 39-over 903. But San Jose State se-
nior Cristina Corpus posted a 1-over 217 total to win her second tournament in a row.
UC Davis freshman Demi Runas finished second at 3-over 219.
